Hello! My name is Lawrence Kimera.

I have been a support worker for nearly three years now. To me, being a support worker is more than a job, it’s a heartfelt mission to enhance daily life and foster a sense of comfort and well-being for people with disabilities. I firmly believe in treating each individual with the utmost respect, preserving their dignity, and extending genuine compassion.

The memory of being there for my grandmother during her golden years, sharing laughter, stories, and cherished moments, fuels my passion for the role I hold today. My journey deepened when life led me to support my cousin, who faced the challenges of living with a Ventriculoperitoneal (VP) shunt due to hydrocephalus. Standing by their side throughout their journey taught me about strength and the profound impact of compassionate care. Witnessing the placement of the VP shunt, a crucial step in relieving excess brain fluid and pressure, and playing a pivotal role in their care, shaped my understanding of the difference caregivers can make. Each interaction and tender moment highlighted the power of empathy and support. The relief of knowing our care positively impacted my cousin’s journey solidified my commitment to care support. Every day, I step into the care sector with a heart full of purpose, ready to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those I serve. The opportunity to provide comfort, encouragement, and hope is a privilege that deeply resonates with me.

Beyond my role as a support worker, there’s a world of interests that keep me engaged and inspired. One of my greatest passions is music, and I consider myself an all-around enthusiast. However, my heart truly associates with spiritual reggae and classical melodies, especially on those serene and relaxed days. I am highly Optimistic in my outlook on life and interactions with others. I find joy in exploring new horizons, and traveling is my way of collecting precious memories from different corners of the world and above all Documentaries are my go-to when I seek to expand my knowledge and gain insights into the world around me.

I’m grateful to be a part of Angelic Care, an organization that values its team members and invests in our growth. The ongoing dedication to skill enhancement through extra training has greatly contributed to my capabilities in this role.
