Concierge Support Service
In the past young people with a disability have needed to live in aged care as there aren’t other options – thankfully this is now changing. The rise of modern housing that supports inclusion and independence has seen an increase in housing options with both disability accommodation or group home supports available. These are often seen as an option for people that need a higher level of support or have a significant disability.
For those that require less support, additional occasional support or emergency assistance – a concierge model of supported independent living is a new option.

What is the Concierge model of support?
Concierge Supported Independent Living (SIL) allows the individual resident more control and choice over who provides assistance day to day support and also provides the 24-hour presence of on-call support workers (concierge staff) regardless of level of disability or individual support needs.
Residents have the option to choose specific times that they want to use their onsite concierge staff (within their NDIS Plan) and balance this with daily supports from preferred providers. Concierge staff and daily SIL staff can be from the same or different organisations – it is the individual’s choice. This enables residents to have control over who provides assistance with daily scheduled needs (eg meal preparation, personal care) as well as the concierge service providing:
On-call overnight support
Unexpected support
Emergency support
Extra person support eg assistance with a hoist transfer
Day-to-day tasks if you choose to use the one provider rather than several
Concierge model housing is often in an apartment style property with staff located in a separate space within the same building.

Getting to know you is important to us. All services and goals are tailored to your interests and abilities. One of our friendly customer care managers will spend some time with you to understand your interests and abilities and together we work with you to design a program tailored to your needs on the days that you would like a weekly mow or a spring window clean.
